What skills are required before commencing the training?

There are no particular skills required however candidates must have sufficient Learning, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills. The ability to speak English fluently is also a requirement. See the LLN section below for more information.

Our fees include;

  • The issue of the Notice of Assessment on the day of successful training (temporary licence until plastic card is sent from Worksafe).
  • Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency TLILIC0003 Licence to operate a forklift truck.
  • Lodgment of the Worksafe application for the LF class licence including passport photo (optional at extra cost).

Candidates have the choice to complete practical assessment (other than the driving aspect) using paper based checklists or via our online ForkSafe Tech © (FST) system. All WorkSafe assessments must be complete on paper.

The minimum is 3 people and up to 6 per course depending on site conditions. In some cases, larger groups may possible however we never compromise the quality of training for the sake of larger groups.

Is some cases team members may be able to return to their normal duties for periods of time during training days. This depends on site conditions and how well a candidates develop their skills level.

 

As a minimum, we need access to your forklift, a safe area for driver training and assessment, items such as pallets or other loads and if possible pallet racking with available spaces. Specific requirements can be discussed based on your site conditions and modified to meet assessment criteria if necessary.

 

Yes, successful candidates receive a High Risk Work Licence on the day which is valid across Australia and effective immediately.

 

We would expect that people completing the 1 day course would have around 240 hours of driving experience, be able to understand a data plate and know how to complete pre start checks.

 No. The only requirement is that the person is over 18 year of age.

 

An LF class forklift truck is described as a machine that has a mast which can lift a load more the 900mm off the ground. There are many different kinds of forklift trucks and each have their own characteristics and driving dynamics. Before operating an unfamiliar machine within the LF class of licence, the operator must first receive training, information, supervision and instruction to help ensure safe operation.

 

 Onsite Forklift Licencing maintain Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance. Certificates of currency can be provided if required.

 

No. Although under duty of care requirements, employers must ensure operators receive suitable training before being authorised to use this equipment.
